Changelog

What changed in each version of Aibex.

Version 0.3.0
November 2026

Added

  • Push to talk: hold the microphone button under the chat field and speak. Your words appear in the chat field as you talk, and listening stops when you let go. Nothing is sent: you read it over, edit it and send it yourself. If the cursor is in the chat field, the words go where the cursor is and replace any selection; otherwise they are added at the end
  • Hold Esc: hold Esc for a moment (0.4 seconds) to talk into the selected tab without reaching for the mouse. A quick press of Esc still closes things as before. The help panel (⌘?) lists it
  • Line comments too: in Diff, the open line comment has its own microphone button, and holding Esc writes into that comment
  • Preparing… and Go: some microphones, such as an iPhone used as the Mac's microphone, take about a second to open, and anything said before that is lost. A bubble above the button says Preparing… until the microphone is open, then Go
  • Language: Aibex listens in its display language: Japanese when Aibex is shown in Japanese, English otherwise

Security

  • Speech is recognized on the Mac by macOS 26's own speech recognition. Neither the audio nor the text leaves the Mac. The first time, macOS asks whether Aibex may use the microphone, and the speech model for the language is downloaded from Apple once; after that, recognition works offline. If the microphone can't be used, the reason and how to fix it appear next to the button
Version 0.2.1
November 2026

Added

  • The column browser: + opens the column browser. In 0.2.0, the part that runs it was left out of the DMG, so + always fell back to the folder browser with a notice. It now ships inside the app and is signed with it
  • Help → Aibex User Guide opens the user guide on zaseeta.com in your browser, in Japanese or English following the language of macOS
  • Context and usage at a glance: each vertical tab shows how full its context window is (Ctx), and the right end of the row with Chat, History and Diff shows the 5-hour and weekly usage limits

Changed

  • Your terminal's PATH: when it starts, Aibex reads PATH once from your login shell (and gives up after 5 seconds). "!" commands and the agent's Bash tool find the tools your shell adds, such as mise, nvm or pnpm, and Aibex looks for node, claude and pnpm there first. Only PATH is read; nothing else is taken from your shell
  • The agent asks in its reply: Aibex hides the AskUserQuestion tool, which it cannot display, so the agent no longer tries it first and gets turned down
  • New folders in the diff: files inside a new, untracked folder are listed and shown one by one. The diff, the file list and "discard all" cover only the working folder and what is below it

Security

  • Hardened after an internal review: discarding every change needs an explicit request, git runs without the filters and hooks a repository defines for itself, the agent's folder boundary follows symlinks and covers every tool that takes a local path, leftover processes are stopped only when Aibex started them, and the app's pages no longer allow inline scripts
Version 0.2.0
November 2026

First free beta

  • A macOS app for working with AI coding agents across several projects at once: one tab per project, the agent's replies and diffs laid out to read, and every change reviewed before it lands
  • Apple Silicon only, macOS 26 or later. Signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple
  • Bring your own tools: node, pnpm and the claude command-line tool. On first launch, Aibex asks before downloading the agent runtime it needs
  • Each beta build works for 90 days from the day it was built. Aibex checks for a newer version when it starts and once a day, downloads it in the background and offers a one-click restart
  • A free beta; the full release will be paid
