Changelog

Track the evolution of DraftFinder with our version history.

Version 1.0.3
August 2026

Added

  • Customizable key bindings: reassign any single-key command from the "Key Bindings" tab in ⌘,. Return, Space and Esc stay reserved
  • File preview: press l to Quick Look the selected file, and keep moving through the folder with ↑↓ without closing the preview
  • Pinned tabs: a pinned tab stays on its folder and cannot be closed by accident. Pin state survives restarts
  • Reorderable bookmarks: reorder with ⌥↑ / ⌥↓ or by dragging — the order is saved as-is
  • Sort and tag cycling: o cycles the sort order, y cycles the tag color, and h clears the tag
  • Send to Claude Code: open the selected folder in Claude Code from the context menu or ⌘K. It goes through your login shell, so your everyday environment is right there
  • Display language now applies app-wide: switching the language in ⌘, also switches the macOS menu bar, not just DraftFinder's own UI (requires a restart)
  • Full Disk Access guidance: if access has not been granted, DraftFinder offers a one-time prompt at first launch with a direct link to the right pane in System Settings, and offers to restart once you grant it. Declining changes nothing about how the app works

Changed

  • Tag keys have changed. Applying a color with 19 and clearing with 0 have been removed in favour of cycling with y and clearing with h. The number row is now free, so you can assign any command to it from the "Key Bindings" tab

Fixed

  • "Reset to Default" in the "Mark" tab of ⌘, reset every setting — terminal choice, display language, tag colors, search exclusions and key bindings — instead of just the mark glyph and color
  • Bookmarks disappeared without warning after renaming or moving the bookmarked folder. They now follow the change
  • + did not add a bookmark from the ⌘B bookmark list
  • Folders that cannot be read due to permissions are now clearly distinguished from empty folders, with a direct link to System Settings
Version 1.0.2
July 2026

Added

  • Global file-name search: press ⌘F to search your whole home folder (~) and local volumes (/Volumes/*) by name — independent of the current tab. A filter-first popover narrows results as you type; use ↑↓ to select, Return to open the location in a new tab, and ⌘Return to open in the default app. The index is built in the background and persisted, so it's ready instantly on later launches and follows file adds, deletes, and renames. Edit the exclusion list (node_modules, .git, ~/Library, …) from the Search tab in ⌘,
  • View options (grouping): press v to open combined sort & grouping options and show the list grouped with headers; press g to cycle grouping
  • File-type icons: each row now shows an icon based on the file type
  • Color labels (tags): assign custom color labels to files and folders — 19 to apply, 0 to clear; manage colors and names from the "Tags" tab in ⌘,

Fixed

  • Fixed an issue where some volumes under /Volumes could be missing from the listing
Version 1.0.1
July 2026

Added

  • Visit history (recent folders): press ⌘Y to see folders you've recently visited — tracked across all tabs and across restarts (up to 1,000). Fuzzy-filter by name and full path, then press Return to open in a new tab
  • Undo delete: right after removing an entry from visit history with ⌘D, restore it with ⌘Z or the undo toast
  • Popover title bars: Bookmarks (⌘B) and Visit history (⌘Y) now show an icon and name at the top, so the two are easy to tell apart

Changed

  • The command palette's (⌘K) "recent folders" now draws from the cross-tab visit history
  • Unified fuzzy filtering into a single engine, so the visit-history popover and the command palette match in behavior and ordering

Fixed

  • Fixed an issue where Xcode export artifacts were bundled into the distributed DMG. The DMG now contains the app only
Version 1.0.0
June 2026

Initial release

  • Full session restore: tabs, paths, sort order, and scroll position come back exactly as you left them after a restart
  • Keyboard-first navigation: move with u (parent) / b·f (history) plus arrow keys, mark with Space, then m/c/d to move, copy, or delete
  • Command palette ⌘K: fuzzy-search commands, recent folders, and bookmarks in one place
  • Path copy (p), fuzzy filter (s), inline and batch rename, file/folder creation, context menu, and a built-in help panel (?)
  • Bookmarks (⌘B) and terminal integration (WezTerm, iTerm2, Warp, Ghostty, or Terminal.app)
  • GUI settings, Japanese/English localization, and Sparkle auto-update
  • $19.99 one-time purchase with a 14-day free trial
